Informed Consume: getting complete and truthful information on products

Supermarket
Street market

Have you ever gone to a super market? and to a street market?
Where does your family prefer to buy the groceries? why?

Are the following statements included in the reasong you gave?
  • The supermarket is cleaner than the street market
  • The supermarket is more expensive than the street market.
  • The street market fruits are fresher than the super market fruits
The sentences above are comparisons. On them a characteristic is compared. To do so, we use certain words, did you notice what are those words?

Here, take a look at some other examples.

As you can see, making comparisons is quite easy, you just add -er if there´s a one sillable adjective, like clean or fresh; and you add more if there´s and adjective with more than one sillable, like expensive. After the adjective you write or say the word than.

Imagine you have enough money to buy whatever you want. What would you buy? Why? Where would you buy it? Why? Does the brand matter? Why? Does it have a side effect for you or the environment? Would you still buy it? Leave your answers on the comment.

Sustainable Consume: making a better choice when buying.

There is no day in which we dont buy a thing. No, do not say you dont consume, you do, every single day, more than you notice. Buying is ok, it´s even necesary but it can become a very, very bad thing.

Look at the video "The Price of Consumption"

Now that you´ve seen the video, Think about the following questions and leave your answers on the comment space below this post.

* Did you know all of this happened?

* Do you think it´s important for people to know about this?

* Why?

It´s very bad this kind of things have to happen so we can get products, the worst part is we dont know about these things and sometimes we don´t want to know. Little actions can make the difference. So let´s start making plans for our future actions that will help to change the way things are done.

FUTURE ACTIONS:
What will you do to make things better?

We will spend less paper.
We won´t ask for plastic bags if not necessary.

Look at the sentences above and think about the words that should go in the spaces below. Could you share it?

When talking about future plans, we use the word ____ and _____ if we are not doing it. Will and will not (won´t ) always go after the _____ but when doing a question ______ goes first. _______ is the contraction of will not.

Want to know this in Spanish? or want to listen to someone speaking funny?

Now that you know how to talk about future plans, let´s think what you can do to change the problems that consumption generates. Write two problems that consumption generates and tell why you chose them, then write two solutions for each problem and how those solutions will help to solve them. Leave your ideas on the comments.
